The festival on the clouds is an annual festival held on April 30 – May 2 as part of a series of activities for the entire SaPa Tourism culture. It is held on Hàm Rồng mountain or somewhere designated by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in SaPa.

SaPa is beautiful is not only because of its rich culture and ethnic identity. SaPa is also beautiful because of its charming mountainous landscape. These are primeval forests, rice fields spread evenly on the mountain slopes or clouds floating in the sky, and a beauty that cannot be ignored is the waterfalls that flow down all year round such as Cát Cát waterfall, Giàng Tả Chải waterfall, and most of all Thác Bạc waterfall.

With only 4 main colors blue, red, white, black or silk thread, the outfit's patterns radiate a variety of colors, creating a warm feeling. And today, like other ethnic groups, they have also begun to combine ethnic costumes with modern clothes like the Kinh people to facilitate daily living and production.

The H'mong are the most populous ethnic group in Sa Pa, accounting for about 53% of the population. In the past, they were very good at growing wet rice, living along the Yangtze River (China). In a conflict with the Han people, most of them migrated to the South and divided into many small groups. The first H'mong people to come to Sapa were mainly concentrated in the Hoang Lien range about 300 years ago.

Fansipan peak is located on the Hoang Lien Son range, which is the highest mountain range in the three-country system of Vietnam – Laos – Cambodia, so it is known as the “Roof of Indochina” with an altitude of 3,143 meters.

Pu Luong Nature Reserve was established in 1999, with an area of ​​17,662 hectares, including 13,320 hectares of strictly protected areas and 4,343 hectares of ecological restoration areas. Pu Luong is the name of the Thai ethnic people, meaning the highest mountain peak in the region. Pu Luong is a nature reserve with scientific, socio-economic and eco-tourism value.
